Our physicians and nurses work together as a team to provide coordinated care to all patients and their families.

Outpatient care is available at our Medical Centre at Level 1 of Tan Tock Seng Hospital and inpatient care is available at Wards 13C and 13D at Level 13 . Our aim is to enhance existing medical oncology care in the region so that patients and physicians need no longer seek treatment outside the region.

Our Approach to Patient Care
Johns Hopkins Singapore International Medical Centre recognizes the fact that each patient has unique and individual needs. All members of the healthcare team work together to meet the patient’s physical, psychological and emotional needs. This collaborative approach to cancer care aims to provide the patient and his/her family with the highest level of medical care possible and to do it in an environment of kindness and compassion.

Our Services for Patients
The Johns Hopkins Singapore International Medical Centre brings the most up-to-date therapy and new technology to patients with cancer in collaboration with the laboratory scientists at Johns Hopkins University, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and local experts.

Staffed by Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine faculty, Johns Hopkins Singapore International Medical Centre physicians collaborate with Singapore medical institutions and physicians to provide care to patients as well as provide consultations to physicians.  Working hand-in-hand with the patient and the referring physician, the services provided are:

  • Inpatient care to manage and treat disease
  • Outpatient care to screen for, diagnose, monitor and treat early and advanced disease
  • Second opinions on complex medical conditions
  • Consultations with the referring physician for specialty service

The Cancers We Treat
Our focus is on the study, research and treatment of cancers that include breast, ovarian, uterine, cervical, lung, throat, nasopharynx, stomach, liver, colon, lymphoma, myeloma, prostate, bladder and kidney.  

Family Support
Johns Hopkins Singapore International Medical Centre embraces an approach to treatment that involves the family.
The patient’s family members are welcome to sit in on consultations and to help the patient make treatment decisions. They are allowed to stay overnight if the patient is admitted.  

Facilities
There are 2 categories of rooms catering to the needs of our inpatients:  The VIP Suite is a deluxe room with a separate lounge area, bedroom and attached bathroom; the Single room comes with an attached bathroom.

Upon admission, a primary nurse will be assigned to the patient to ensure coordination with the rest of the healthcare team and the best possible care for the patient.

Patient-Centred Services

Pharmacy
Our pharmacy provides a convenient one-stop service to address the medication needs of our patients. We have two pharmacies centrally located within our facility; one at the outpatient clinic and the other at our inpatient ward at Ward 13D.

Pharmacy services include:
- Dispensing of medication
- Preparation of chemotherapy
- Counseling of patients regarding their medications
- Bedside dispensing


Educational materials
Johns Hopkins Singapore International Medical Centre also provides our patients with educational materials to help them and their family members to understand specific cancer types, treatments, management of possible side-effects and other issues related to their care.  

International Patient Liaision Office
The International Patient Liaison Office was set up to assist international patients who seek consultation and/or treatment at the International Medical Centre. Their services include interpretation, translation, appointment co-ordination and travel arrangements. The office also oversees the Muslim prayer room which has been set up for patients and their visitors.
