Refer to a Hopkins Colleague
Johns Hopkins physicians value their relationships with colleagues abroad. If your patient from outside the United States needs to travel to our medical center for treatment, Johns Hopkins Medicine International can coordinate a smooth referral, working closely with you to select the appropriate Johns Hopkins specialist.
Please contact the appropriate Regional Division by telephone or e-mail so that we may contact you without delay to discuss your patient's needs. Be sure to provide your contact information so that the treating physician at Johns Hopkins can keep you informed of the patient's progress and communicate any follow-up information you may wish to receive.
After requesting the appointment for your patient, please send via fax or separate courier a complete Medical Report including the following information:
- A Medical Report in English, including a brief history, the results of all diagnostic and laboratory studies performed to date, and the current treatment.
- X-ray, MRI, CT Scan or Ultrasound films and pathology slides as applicable.

The Hopkins Access Line (HAL) is a 24-hour, doctor-to-doctor telephone consultation and referral service provided free of charge to doctors around the world. The service is accessible via telephone number 1-410-955-9444 and can be used by a physician wishing to reach a Hopkins colleague quickly to discuss a case or arrange for emergency transport of a patient to Johns Hopkins from anywhere in the world. For non-emergency situations or if you require language interpretation, please contact us indicating the appropriate Regional Division.
